Reliance Infrastructure is going to build a new multi-level car parking for streamlining passenger connectivity on the high speed Airport Metro Express Line (AMEL). The parking lot will be located in the vicinity of the existing Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, near Connaught Place (CP) in central Delhi. The AMEL, built at a cost of Rs. 5700 crores, links far flung areas of Delhi and Noida to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

A spokesperson of the developer said, "The new multi-level parking lot will come up at Shivaji Stadium Airport Metro station, with a parking capacity of 1,400 cars. It will be functional by the end of this month." This new facility will provide respite to thousands of Metro commuters. When it starts, Shivaji Stadium Metro Station will become the second station to have a multi-level parking, as the New Delhi Airport Metro already has one.

According to the spokesperson, "The multi-level parking lot will provide additional commuter convenience and connectivity to the airport Metro. These parking lots can be used by non-commuters who want to park their cars and enjoy the retail experience at these Metro stations."

Six stations are present on the AMEL - New Delhi Railway Station, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aero City, Indira Gandhi International Airport and Dwarka Sector 21. Approximately 20,000 passengers travel on the AMEL each day and the top management of the Delhi Metro anticipates footfall to increase further when the parking facility becomes operational.
