With stress on maximisation of fuel efficiency and performance, the new generation engine series, Earth Dreams Technology will be unveiled at the show. With this latest technology, Honda is expecting to compete with the Skyactiv technology of Mazda. The auto maker will be showcasing the new generation 1.6 litre engine that is expected to be incorporated in all the company’s models in the coming three years. The powerful engine will have a maximum power of 118 hp and peak torque of 300 Nm at 2000 rpm.

Another offering of the company that will make its debut in Europe is the EV-STER, which is a fully electric, rear-wheel, two seat roadster. Equipped with 10 kWh lithium ion battery having power generation capacity of 79 hp, the sportscar can cover around 160 km in one charge. Moreover, the lightweight design facilitates fast pick-up, wherein the car can reach 96 kmph in around 5 seconds.

Honda will also showcase the new fourth generation CR-V, with improved features. There are alterations made to the exterior of the model, such as the deeper sculpted body lines, revamped lower front bumper and bolder front fascia. The smooth integration of the front bumper into fascia improves the aerodynamics of the car and results in better fuel efficiency. The all-new European Honda CR-V will be available for sale from autumn this year.

The stand of the company at the show will display two latest variants of the popular Jazz model, namely the Jazz Si and the Jazz 1.2 with Idle Stop. The former has an improved sporty suspension, coupled with alterations in the interiors and exteriors. It will be available for sale from summer this year. The highlight of the Jazz 1.2 with Idle Stop is the reduced CO2 emission, around 3g/km lower, than the earlier version. The reduced emission has earned the car a rating of 120g/km CO2. The innovatively styled open sports car with excellent environmental performance will go on sale from spring this year.

Thus, with the showcasing of latest concept, engine and variants, the company is positive about grabbing attention of visitors at the Geneva Motor Show.
