Nissan Motors is concerned over its Infiniti models regarding faulty airbag systems. The company has already recalled more than 130,000 units of Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes. "On a small percentage of the potentially affected vehicles, a harness connector issue could cause the passenger air bag to shut off," stated official spokesperson from Nissan Motors. The recall is expected to reach up to 146,000 units excluding recalls from Europe and China. The models include sedans from model years 2005-2006 and G35 coupes from model years 2005-2007 due to faulty airbags.

Nissan has issued various recalls giving troubled thoughts to Nissan owners now. So far there have not been any serious cases of massive recall from Nissan Motors but taking a look at Toyota precedence, no auto maker around the world is taking any second chances with any faulty auto component in their cars. As the recall season prevails in the auto industry around the globe, Nissan announced the air bag problem in its 2005 to 2007 models stating that the wire harness situated under the passenger seat could wear down, leading to the air bag not deploying in the time of a crash.

Nissan has not recalled any vehicles in India so far mainly owing to its limited presence in the country. The Japanese car maker still has to foray into the Indian market on large scale which it plans to do by introducing its small car model Nissan Micra next month.
