Japanese car maker, Nissan recently announced its participation in the Great Online Shopping Festival 2013 (GOSF), which is organised by Google India. This decision comes on the back of announcement that Nissan would be selling its cars through the medium of Internet. Google has used the shopping festival platform as a means to diverge the traffic from its website to increase the purchase intent. This year is the second consecutive time in which Goggle has organised the GOSF, a three day festival that ends on 13th December 2013. The festival has grown bigger from last year as the first edition of GOSF was 24-hour long event.

Prospective buyers of Nissan can book their vehicles by making payments through an online gateway way using a debit or credit card. After the booking has been made, buyers will be contacted by the respective dealerships to complete the remaining formalities. The shopping festival of Google has been promoted through the means of digital advertising on various general interest websites. Apart from it, social media websites like Facebook and Twitter have also been roped in for the purpose.

By purchasing any passenger car of Nissan through the GOSF, the customers will be offered with additional discounts and leverage. Almost all the cars of Nissan including newly launched Terrano and Micra are available for purchase on the website. As claimed by Nissan, it is offering benefits of up to Rs. 10000 on Terrano, Rs. 2.3 lakh on Evalia, Rs. 40000 on Micra and Rs. 75000 on Sunny.

According to Indiadrives.com, a company official spoke about how this initiative will benefit the firm's operations in India. He said that this collaboration underlined the ability of Nissan to create a unique marketing strategy for promoting its products. Many experts feel that the Japanese car maker is going to benefit a lot from the Internet boom that is prevalent in the country. The customer base is quite wide on the web and marketing on the same attracts a high number of people at a low cost.

On the other hand, Google India is also excited to have Nissan on board for The Great Online Shopping Festival. Google's popularity throughout the globe is unprecedented and anyone who gets associated with it is likely to get automatic recognition. GOSF has a high number of retail partners, who belong to different categories. Some of the most popular brands participating in this festival are Airtel, Amazon, Asian Paints, Flipkart, Maruti Suzuki, Hidesign, India Today and IndiGo.
