      Aston Martin accident in Mumbai being probed by police

      'A fatal end to a great car causing injuries to several human lives' aptly describes the tragedy that took place on this Sunday. Yes indeed, the incident can be recalled as Sunday's Peddar Road accident in which an Aston Martin collided severely with two vehicles, leaving several people injured. The Gamdevi police is currently probing the accident with the help of collected CCTV footage of the accident. The police will send this evidence to the forensic laboratory situated at Kalina for analysing. Sources close to the development process have revealed that it will help the probing team to get a crack on incidents that followed during accident and the culprit.

      In connection to the road mishap, there is rife news that Bansilal Joshi, a 55-year-old man, had approached police with the claim of being Aston Martin's driver at the time of road accident. He said that he was scared and so, fled from the scene. Joshi reportedly walked down to the police station to get this statement recorded a day after the accident. The driver has not been arrested as the police want to be very specific about his claim. In this regards, there are reports that police will get Joshi's mobile call records and find its location at the time of accident as a testimony to his statement. A senior police officer reportedly stated, "We are in the process of recording a detailed statement based on the sequence of incidents that unfolded following the accident around 1.30 am (on Sunday). Following this, we will confirm whether his claims are true and if he was indeed at the spot."

      Besides Joshi's statement, the police have recorded statements of eight other people, including five victims who were injured in the accident. The police officials have refused to reveal names of victims. Sandeep Bhagadikar, inspector of Gamdevi police, "We are investigating the case and as a part of it, statements are being recorded."
