Volkswagen India, the Indian subsidiary of the German automaker has rolled out the next generation and technologically upgraded Touareg SUV in the Indian market at a whopping cost of Rs. 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Available in automatic transmission and in diesel version, the new Touareg boasts longer and wider aerodynamics and sheds around 200 kg of kerb weight for increased driveability.
The next generation mid-size crossover SUV is fabricated with 3.0 litre V6 TDI engine a heart capable of outpouring a top power of 245 PS and a top torque of 56.08kgm mated to an -speed automatic gearbox. As per Volkswagen, the new Touareg has an impressive mileage of 12.08 kmpl.
While commenting about the new Touareg, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, quoted, "The Touareg has been a well-accepted carline in India thanks to its agile performance and off roading capabilities. The new generation makes no compromise towards this and our customers can look forward to an even more exciting experience."
Offered in seven enticing colours, the new Touareg is incorporated with bi xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights as a standard feature. Additionally, the SUV sports '14 way' electrically adjustable front seats, two piece front centre armrest with movable with storage compartment, a panoramic sunroof, Bluetooth audio system, a touch-screen audio system that doubles up as a screen for the reverse camera, a dual-zone climate control system and keyless entry and go.
The SUV with all wheel drive system is installed with a package of most contemporary safety features such as ABS with brake assistant, airbags for passenger and driver and Electronic Stability Control. Volkswagen Touareg, a five seater SUV is positioned against arch rivals like Mercedes ML-Class and BMW X5.
