The onset of the 2012 Paris Motor Show will witness a magnificent premiere of the new Skoda Rapid compact sedan sporting the brand’s globally acclaimed design aesthetics and high end technology. With no fewer than 19 ‘simply clever’ features, new Skoda Rapid is positioned between Skoda Fabia hatchback and the premium sedan Skoda Octavia.
The new Skoda Rapid compact saloon embodies intelligently styled exterior appeal with greater space incorporated on the interiors bifurcating as more of a family car. The claimed to be best in class features in the new Rapid sedan are the enhanced headroom and knee room space.
Some of the notable clever attributes imbued in the sedan are reversible floor covering for the floor as well as the boot, ice scraper cap integrated into the fuel filler cap and the practical holder placed beneath the driver's seat. Moreover, high on technology passive safety features have also been fabricated to enhance the safety quotient of the occupants.
Mr. Winfried Vahland, CEO, Skoda Auto, was quoted as saying, “The Skoda Rapid is Skoda's new class and it has a central importance for our 2018 growth strategy. We think that in the years ahead, the Rapid will become our largest volume model after the Octavia.”
Skoda has formulated a complete package of engine solutions for the prospective Rapid sedan buyers consisting of four petrol engines, two diesel engines and five exclusively developed and tested GreenTec variants to be launched in Europe. This model will be rolled out in the European car market by the end of October this year while the automaker is dedicated to launch the Chinese and Russian version of the Rapid sedan in the coming months.
