The head of Research and Development of Porsche, Wolfgang Hatz, has revealed that all the 918 units of the turbocharged 918 Spyder have rolled out in the market. However, the good part is that the Spyder will soon be replaced by a successor. This petrol-electric hypercar has been I the news right from the time of its launch. This report was stated by Hatz at the LA Motor Show. Hatz said, “I was always convinced we’d sell out, and what is most satisfying, is that the sales have accelerated as reviews confirmed the car is everything we promised it would be,”

Hatz has also declared that the knowhow acquired while developing the 918 Spyder will help Porsche quite well in the future. The Spyder has established a blueprint and a benchmark that will definitely spearhead the upcoming cars from the Porsche team in future. When asked about Spyder’s successor, Hatz said, “Will we build a successor to the 918? Yes. Not immediately, but not in 20 years' time either.”

The Porsche 918 was launched simultaneously with LaFerrari and McLaren P1 hypercars. While the 499 units of LaFerrari were sold out immediately, the 375 McLaren P1s took a few months to roll out.
