The 2016 BMW 7-Series saloon is likely to make global debut this year. It is speculated that the next generation 7 Series will make its debut either at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show or at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Codenamed as G11 for standard model and G12 for the Long wheelbase model, the saloon has been fully leaked ahead of its debut.
The next BMW 7 Series gets new front fascia with a large kidney grille which is complemented by signature headlamps that merges into the grille. The headlamps get laser units, which are offered on the BMW i8. Its front bumper resembles the new 6 Series. The side profile of the saloon remains largely unchanged; however, the company has given subtle changes to keep things fresh. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to new alloy wheels. At the back, the sedan gets chiseled tail lamps and chrome trims that split the taillights.
Inside, the 2016 BMW 7 Series gets new features and slightly modified elements. The vehicle has new leather trimmed dashboard with wooden inserts. Also visible are the dual-tone upholstery for seats and a larger touchscreen infotainment system.
The exact engine specifications for the next 7 Series are yet to be announced. If media reports are to be believed, the sedan would get a new 2.0-litre engine with 4-cylinder, 6-cylinder and V8 form. It will also feature the 6.6-litre V12 gasoline engine that is rated at 600bhp. The saloon would be offered in diesel avatars as well. There would be a plug-in hybrid variant on offer.
