      Honda to launch CBR650F sportsbike in India

      Honda 2wheelers India seems aggressive with its product and dealership expansion plans for the Indian market. The company has recently launched the CB Unicorn 160, and is now preparing a series of new motorcycles and scooters for the market. Interestingly, Honda is also contemplating various sportsbike for our market including the much-awaited CBR650F. The company has already started testing the CBR650F on Indian roads.

      The Honda CBR 650F is propelled by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, inline four-cylinder, 16 valve engine that churns out a maximum power output of 87bhp at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 63Nm at 8,000rpm. This engine is clubbed to a six-speed gearbox. It comes with 17.3-litres of fuel tank, and the fuel efficiency of this bike is rated at 21kmpl.

      The CBR 650F measures 2,110mm in length, 755mm in width and 1,145mm in height, and it has a large wheelbase of 1,450mm. The vehicle has a ground clearance of 130mm, and it weighs just 211kgs. The suspension system comprises of telescopic fork at front and monoshock at rear. The bike is equipped with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard, which works with disc brakes. The Honda CBR650F is expected to go on sale in the country in the first half of 2015 and is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6-7 lakh.
