Maruti Suzuki has launched the new upgraded model of Wagon R in India with prices starting at Rs. 3.28 lakh. The model comes in three variants where the base LX variant is priced at Rs. 3.28 lakh, LXi variant at Rs. 3.57 lakh, VXi at Rs. 3.81 lakh. The VXi model is also available with optional Airbags and will cost Rs. 4.12 lakh. The new variant is here to give a strong competition to the newcomers like Ford Figo, Chevrolet Beat and even the oldies like Hyundai Santro.
The new Maruti Wagon R has the new K-series engine which is Euro IV compliant and ready to be sold in 13 cities of India where the new emission norms have been implemented. The new engine is the K10B engine which currently powers A-Star and Ritz models and generates 65PS.
Maruti Wagon R is also known as the “The Blue Eyed Boy” for the company. "This new launch of WagonR is important to Maruti Suzuki for many reasons. It demonstrates the growing research and development capability of the company," said Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi at the launch ceremony.
