      New BMW M4 Coupe Vs Audi RS5 Vs Mercedes C63 AMG

      German luxury carmaker, BMW has finally introduced the new M4 Coupe in the Indian car market. Available in petrol fuel option only, the M4 Coupe will directly rival against the likes of Audi RS5 and Mercedes C63 AMG. The M4 comes as a completely built-up unit (CBU), and is the latest entrant to BMW’s M Series. Here is a quick specifications based comparison among the BMW M4 Coupe, Audi RS5 and Mercedes C63 AMG.

      Note: Since Mercedes has recently launched the updated C-Class, the AMG variant will be here by early next year. So, for the comparison we have included the current C63 AMG.

      Dimensions

      Dimensionally, the BMW M4 Coupe measures 4671mm in length, 1870mm in width and 1383mm in height. All three models are very close on dimensions. The Audi RS5 and Mercedes C63 AMG are 4649mm and 4686mm in length, 1860mm and 1810mm in width and 1366mm and 1442mm in height, respectively. The C63 AMG has the largest wheelbase at 2840mm, while the other two models- M4 Coupe and RS 5 wheelbase measures at 2812mm and 2751mm respectively.

      Engine Specifications

      The Mercedes C63 AMG is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 468bhp and a peak torque of 650Nm. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via a seven-speed AMG speedshift gearbox. The BMW M4 Coupe features a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol unit producing 431bhp at 5500-7300rpm with a maximum torque of 550Nm between 1850-5500rpm. This engine also paired to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The Audi RS 5 Coupe gets the 4.2-litre V8 FSI petrol unit that churns out a maximum power output of 444bhp at 8250rpm and a peak torque of 430Nm between 4,000 and 6,000rpm.

      Acceleration

      The BMW M4 Coupe sprints to 0-100kmph in just 5 seconds, and hits an electronically limited top-speed of 250kmph. Its rivals Audi RS5 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG take 4.6 seconds and 4.2 seconds to reach 0-100kmph, respectively, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
