MP bans commercial vehicles older than 15 years

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to not allow 15 year old commercial vehicles to ply in the state. This decision has come in to curb pollution at a very early stage itself. At the moment, only 15 year and older commercial vehicles have been not allowed to enter the state. At the moment, Delhi government is struggling with the high air pollution levels in the National Capital Region. From 1st of January, sale of new diesel cars will be banned for the first three months and the new odd-even rule will be implemented for the first 15 days of the month.

The Transport Minister Bhupender Singh told reporters that this decision was made to control the rising pollution levels in the state. The idea is to reduce the pollution before it reaches an alarming level. Madhya Pradesh has been working towards enhancing the current infrastructure of the state.

Madhya Pradesh is also looking at reduce the current driving license age from 18 years to 16. There is no confirmation, but the government is also considering this move for the future.
