Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is reportedly gearing-up to export its newest hatchback Baleno to the European Union markets. It is believed that this is company’s second effort to mark its presence in the European region. As per reports from Hindu, the automaker has also been planning on exporting the hatchback to places like Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands and Spain.

Sometime later, sources have revealed that the company also consider exporting India-made models to Japan too along with other models like Dzire, Ertiga, Ciaz and Celerio across markets. Maruti Suzuki offers Baleno in four variants namely – Delta, Sigma, Alpha and Zeta, in Petrol as well as diesel options. The vehicle comes with safety features like Total Effective Control Technology (TECT), dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belt pre-tensioners.

The Maruti Baleno petrol variant is powered by 1.2-litre K12 engine that generates about 83bhp of power, while the diesel comes with 1.3-litre DDiS engine that generates about 74bhp of power. Apart from five speed-manual, the petrol version also gets an optional CVT automatic.
