MG Motors has started deliveries of the Hector in India. The first unit of the SUV was delivered to Madan Mohan in Gujarat. The MG Hector was launched in India with a price tag starting at Rs 12.18 lakhs all the way up to Rs 16.88 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Feature wise, the top-end trim of the MG Hector receives a 10.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery, seven-inch MID, 360 degree view parking camera, hill hold and descent control and electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats.
Powertrain options on the MG Hector include a 1.5-litre petrol motor and a 2.0-litre diesel motor. Both the engines are available with a six speed manual transmission as standard while a DCT unit can be had as an option with the petrol unit. Additionally, the petrol engine is also offered with a 48V hybrid option that is paired to a six speed manual transmission.
Previous reports suggested that MG Motors India has received more than 13,000 bookings for the Hector and the waiting period is said to have extended to a period of seven months. In India, the MG Hector rivals the Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Creta.
