      Mercedes-Benz to launch 15 cars this year

      Mercedes-Benz India has recently become the second luxury car maker in the country by selling over 10,000 units in a calendar year. The company is aiming to further enhance its market share and is planning to launch at least 15 new cars this year.

      The first product to hit the Indian market will be the CLA sedan, which is scheduled to go on sale on January 22nd, 2015. The company has already launched the performance-oriented CLA 45 AMG, and is now ready with regular variants to take on the Audi A3 sedan. Mercedes-Benz that introduced the updated E-Class in India in 2013 is now planning to introduce the Cabrio and Coupe version of the E in the country. While the Cabrio model will make its way to our market first, the Coupe will follow soon.

      The German maker will also launch the facelifted versions of the A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks in the country. Both model will get mild makeover to both exteriors and interiors, and are likely to get new infotainment system, steering wheel, etc. To rival BMW X6, Mercedes is planning to launch the GLE Crossover in the country. The company will introduce both standard and AMG version of the car.

      The company will also launch the CLS-Class, C250 CDI and C63 AMG in the first half of 2015. Adding to it, Mercedes-Benz is also planning to launch the AMT GT in the country in March. It is powered by a new 4.0-litre, V8 biturbo engine that offers two states of tunes 460PS and 510PS. It will come as flagship model and is expected to be priced around Rs. 2 crore. The other models to come India are likely to be the S 600 Mayback, S 600 Guard and S 500 Plug-in Hybrid.
