Mercedes-Benz is all set to introduce its ML-Class in Indian auto market

Mercedes Benz, the German luxury car maker, had recently launched its M-Class in the international auto market. The company is further preparing itself to launch the ML-Class in India. As per the company officials, M-Class will be introduced in the mid 2012. The new car will be brought into the country in knocked down version and is likely to be assembled at Mercedes-Benz's Chakan plant in Maharashtra.

Importing Completely Knocked Down (CKD) version of this ML-Class will help the company cut down prices and thus, offer the car at lower price. The company has also conceived that next year, it will also import its GL-Class in the country as a CKD version. This car will be also assembled at the Chakan plant of Mercedes-Benz. The ML350 CDI SUV of Mercedes, which is scheduled to be launched in mid 2012, will be loaded with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine.

Currently, the company is taking initiatives to expand its facility to double the production capacity from existing 10,000 units per year.
