Mercedes lovers in the country looking forward to buy a E-Class soon may consider the new special Edition E launched in India for Rs 48.6 lakh (Ex-showroom, Pune). The special edition marks the German automaker’s twenty successful years in the country. The new Mercedes Benz Edition E comes loaded with all modern safety feaures like seat belt tensioners, eight airbags and Neck-Pro active head restraints system on the front seats.

The Mercedes-Benz Edition E is offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol E200 gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that generates about 181bhp of power. While the diesel trim is offered in two engine options – the E250 trim gets 2.1-litre four-cylinder engine that generates about 201bhp, while the E350 CDI comes with a 3.0-litre V6 engine that generates about 261.5bhp of power. To make the vehicle truly special edition from the regular E-Class, it comes with new ‘Edition E’ badging, fibre-optic tail-lamps that have been altered to flash during emergency braking, illuminated three-point star on the front grille, electric sunroof and adaptive LED headlamps.

Inside the Mercedes-Benz Edition E comes with SD card-based Garmin navigation system that features a command system and can access Mercedes-Benz Apps. Rear Camera with active park assist, illuminated door sills, electrically adjustable front seat with memory function, Harman Kardon 14-speaker surround sound system, rear seat entertainment system and a 360-degree camera. The Mercedes E200 'Edition E' is offered for Rs 48.6 lakh, Mercedes E250 CDI 'Edition E' for Rs 50.76 lakh and the Mercedes E350 CDI 'Edition E' is offered for Rs 60.61 lakh.
