      Mercedes-Benz A and B Class 'Edition 1' variants coming on June 24

      Mercedes Benz India will be rolling out special editions of its A and B Class hatchbacks in domestic market onJune 24, 2014. Christened ‘Edition 1’, A and B Class special editions will be proffered only in diesel variants. The vehicles will feature insignificant upgrades on the exterior and interior front. Mechanically, there will not be any change except for the increased ground clearance enabling improved ride quality and making the vehicles viable for handling minor bumps on roads.

      On the exterior front, the wing mirrors will come with glossy black cover, ‘Edition 1’ badges will be affixed on the running boards and headliners of these cars. Redesigned 17 inch alloy wheels impart a sporty look to the vehicle. A host of changes will also be seen inside the cabin including electrically adjustable passenger’s seat, rear centre armrest with cup holders, reverse camera and a panoramic sunroof adding to the luxury quotient of the vehicle. Rear seat entertainment package will be offered exquisitely on the B Class Edition 1 variant.

      Engine set up and transmission options proffered on A and B Class Edition 1 will be same as offered on standard models. Mercedes-Benz launched the A Class hatchback and the diesel avatar of B Class hatchback last year in domestic market. Since the special editions will come with additional features and upgrades, these could receive a slight price bump. More details will be unveiled on June 24th, when the vehicles will be launched in India.
