Maruti had showcased their new SUV, the Vitara Brezza, at the Auto Expo 2016, held in Delhi last month. The sub-four-metre SUV has been developed to take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300 and will be launched tomorrow. The Brezza looks like an SUV with its looks inspired form the larger Suzuki Vitara.

The Vitara Brezza gets a front grille with a wide horizontal chrome slat dominating the chunky honeycomb grille. The projector headlamps with LED DRLS and the bumper with a gaping grille and fog-lamps make it look aggressive. The boxy SUV gets 195mm of ground clearance and 16 inch alloy-wheels.

The interiors are like the Maruti Swift and Baleno hatchbacks i.e. black. The dashboard has bits and pieces from other Maruti cars. The instrument cluster gets a tachometer and a multi-information display reading out average fuel economy, distance to empty two electronic trip meters and the fuel indicator. The music system is from the Baleno and has Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with AUX input. The top spec car gets chrome interior door handles, climate control and steering mounted audio controls.

The Vitara Brezza will be offered in diesel only with the 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel mill from the Ciaz which develops 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox powering the front wheels. ABS-EBD is being offered as an option right from the base variant.

The Vitara Brezza is expected to undercut the Ford EcoSport diesel and may be priced between Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh while the top spec car is expected to go beyond Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
