The Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki is expected to start the exports of its flagship exporting model A -Star to the Indonesian market, next year. India is currently the sole manufacturing location of the Maruti’s A-Star, to which the company exports to the countries like US, Europe and a number of Asian markets.
The Maruti A-Star model has been seen doing rounds on the media channels in the Indonesian market, recently. Powered by the highly efficient 1.0L K series engine, the Maruti A-Star model delivers a staggering performance with a considerably high fuel economy. It is expected that the company will launch the car in the Indonesian market in two variants including Vxi and Zxi.
Maruti Suzuki currently manufactures the A-Star model at its Manesar plant, from where it dispatches it to both domestic and overseas markets. The car is known as Suzuki Alto in the Japanese market, while the same model is sold as Nissan Pixo in a number of European markets. However, the company modifies the car as per the safety requirements, conditions of the foreign markets.
In the domestic market, A-Star is performing considerably well and giving a tough fight to the likes Hyundai i10, Honda Brio, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Beat etc.
