The mid-size vehicle range comprising the Celerio, Swift, Ritz, Baleno and the Dzire compact sedan saw a total of 44,626 units being sold last month as compared to 37,339 units in the corresponding period last year registering a growth of 19.5 per cent. In the utility segment comprising the S-Cross and Ertiga as well as the Gypsy, Maruti Suzuki saw a whopping 57.5 per cent growth thanks to the sale of 8,688 units as compared to 5,515 units in November 2014. Exports have been steady at 10,000 units every month. Maruti Suzuki’s increased numbers can be attributed to the festival season that ended last month with Diwali. The numbers indicate the changing buyer preference whereby consumers have moved from the smaller hatchbacks to vehicles like the Swift and the Dzire.
