Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading car manufacturer, has sailed past the 1 crore mark in domestic automobile sales. With this achievement, the company affirms its position as the leader in the Indian automobile market. In order to commemorate this occasion, Maruti Suzuki has come out with the new SX4 Celebration Edition sedan. The Celebration Edition of the SX4 is a revamped version of Maruti Suzuki’s SX4 sedan with certain changes that will make it more attractive. The model has not been able to taste much success in India, though the company hopes to attract a large number of customers with the revised model.

The SX4 Celebration Edition incorporates many new features, such as new fabric seat, chrome inside door handles and chrome AC louvers. Cubic printing on arm rest, Celebration floor mats and pillows and Celebration Edition body decals and graphics, are a few more of the additional features present in the car. Maruti Suzuki SX4 sedan is available with petrol, diesel and CNG engines and belongs to the C-segment of the Indian automobile market, the only model in this segment by the company.

The 1.6 L petrol engine of the SX4 produces 104 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque. A striking feature of the petrol engine of the SX4 is variable valve timing. The SX4 is available in CNG version too, which is also incorporated with the 1.6 L engine. The power generated by the SX4 CNG variant is 86 bhp while the torque is 122 Nm, slightly lesser than that of the petrol-powered edition.

The SX4 fitted with a diesel engine is the highest selling variant of the car in India. It is equipped with 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine that generates 90 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. SX4 having the Fiat Multijet engine is the only diesel car in the Maruti Suzuki fleet to make use of the variable geometry turbo. In the next few months, Maruti Suzuki will come out with the Ertiga, a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV), which will be the second vehicle in the Maruti line-up to have the variable geometry turbocharger. Maruti Suzuki has not announced the price of the SX4 Celebration Edition; however, it is expected to be slightly higher than the previous model due to the extra features.
