Force India, which made a strong performance this year in the F1 races, will have a 50 million pound boost in order to further improve the performance of the team. This was announced by the team's co-owner Vijay Mallya, who said, "We had a board meeting in India after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the board has approved a 50 million pound capital investment programme for the team." He further added, "We are going to invest heavily in new technology and give more tools to our design team to try and move further up the grid."
Force India, with 99 points are on the seventh position, 25 points behind Sauber on sixth-place and 23 points ahead of Williams on eighth position. The rankings are likely to remain the same this year unless Force India or Williams make an extra ordinary performance in the Brazilian Grand Prix, the season's last, to be held on Sunday.
Force India with a total 69 points, finished sixth last year and the present tally is the most ever since the Spyker (previously Jordan) team was bought by Mallya five years back in 2007.

Sahara last year invested $100 million in Force India and Mallya has now made an announcement to invest 50 million pound. Mallya, who is one of the richest men of India, earlier this month had even agreed a $2.1 billion deal with Diageo Plc to sell a majority stake in his company United Spirits Ltd.
Sunday's race will not only mark an end to 2012 Formula 1 season, but it will also be German Nico Hulkenberg's last race with Force India before he moves to Swiss F1 team, Sauber.
Mallya thanked Hulkenberg for his valuable contributions to the team. He said, "Nico has been one of the stars this season. He's delivered exactly what we expected of him and brought a lot to this team. He has a big future in Formula One and we wish him well."
