Mahindra, the home-grown automaker will soon introduce the XUV500 Xclusive edition in the country. The Xclusive Edition will get a sunroof and nine additional features. A partially disguised XUV500 with sunroof has been spotted a couple of times on Indian roads during its test rounds.

According to Team BHP, the XUV500 Xclusive edition will be based on the top-spec W8 variant. This variant will be equipped with features such as electrically adjustable driver seat, new infotainment system with internet connectivity, a hydraulic bonnet. There will be a lot more chrome treatment on offer. If media reports are to be believed, the company has lifted the sunroof and electrically adjustable driver seat from the Ssangong Rexton. On the other hand, the hydraulic bonnet struts are borrowed from the new Scorpio.

The Mahindra Xclusive Edition will continue to be powered by the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 140bhp and a peak torque of 330Nm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels of the SUV via a six-speed gearbox. It is quite early to comment whether the Xclusive edition will be offered with AWD variant or not. Adding to it, the leading utility vehicle maker is also likely to launch a hybrid variant and an automatic variant of the XUV500. The hybrid variant of the SUV was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show.
