Mahindra XUV 500, the recently launched premium sports utility vehicle in the Indian auto market, is receiving a staggering response in the Indian market. The company had started receiving bookings of this new SUV from October 1st, and in just 6 days, the bookings figures have crossed 5,000 units mark in the Indian auto market.
According to the company, the new SUV had become much popular on Social media way before its launch and response remained phenomenal with over 1.5 lakh viewers watching the launch webcast live. It added that in last two weeks, the website launched by the company for XUV 500 has received 8.5 lakh unique visitors along with 35,000 requests for test drives.
While commenting on the overwhelming response received by the new global SUV of the firm, M&M Chief Executive for automotive division Rajesh Jejurikar said, "It is a delight for us that the XUV500 has garnered over 5,000 bookings in a mere six days from just five cities."
The XUV 500 has been priced competitively in the range of Rs 10.8 lakh to Rs 13.95 lakh, surprising the market watchers who were expecting it to be shelved in the segment of sub Rs 15 lakh. The new bold and aggressive SUV has been developed at the monocoque platform and it is the first vehicle from Mahindra stable which has been developed on a global platform.
