Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a limited edition of its Thar off-roader SUV in the Indian car market. Named as “Thar Adventure Edition”, only 30 units of the SUV will be exclusively produced for the Indian car market. The vehicle gets cosmetic upgrades to both exteriors and interiors; however, the mechanical parts remain unchanged.
The exteriors of the Mahindra Thar Adventure Edition gets new Java Brown shade, unique adventure body wrap with a 2D map and compass, and head-lamp, tail lamp protector & chaff screen for extreme survival missions, wheel arch extensions that lend attitude & butch look, etc. Inside the cabin, the limited edition Thar features seat covers in black and orange piping, new centre console and moulded floor mats that can also aid in self recovery & camping requirements.
Mahindra Thar Adventure Edition is powered by the same 2.5-litre 4-cylinder, CRDe turbo diesel engine that is capable of developing a top power output of 103bhp and 247Nm of peak torque. This engine is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels of the SUV. The 4WD mode comprises of a Borg Warner Four wheel drive mechanism that sends torque to all-4 wheels. Mahindra hasn't revealed the pricing details of the Thar Adventure Edition, but we expect this model to be Rs. 10,000-20,000 pricier than the regular 4WD variant.
