India’s leading SUV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has recalled 2,300 units of its popular SUVs and MPVs. The company has recalled the Scorpio and XUV500 SUVs, and the multi-purpose vehicle Xylo to rectify a defective vaccum pump in engines manufactured in May, 2014.
In a statement issued by the company, the company will contact the customers facing this problem. The preventive inspection and replacement of the vacuum pump would be offered free of cost for customers. "The inspection is limited to approximately 2,300 vehicles of Scorpio (Vlx/Sle/Lx), XUV500 W4/w6/W8 and Xylo H9/H8/H4 variants," Mahindra & Mahindra said.
Earlier this year, the homegrown automajor had recalled around 23,000 units of the Scorpio SUV to rectify faulty pressure regulating valves.
Not just Mahindra, several other manufacturers including Maruti Suzuki, Ford, Honda and General Motors have recalled their popular products to rectify issues. Recently, Honda recalled 2,338 units of Brio hatchback, Amaze compact sedan and the popular CR-V sports utility vehicle to repair/replace faulty airbags. Another Japanese brand, Nissan had recalled 9,000 units of Micra and Sunny to replace airbags.
