For the fourth year in a row, Mahindra Bolero has emerged as the top selling SUV model in the country. Mahindra sold 70,554 units of Bolero in the financial year 2009-10. Mahindra Bolero has also become the first vehicle to cross 70,000 units sales mark in the MPV-UV-SUV segment in the country.

"The Mahindra Bolero continues to create new records and scale greater heights as India's no 1 SUV. The Bolero is a top-selling brand in the passenger vehicle segment, excluding small cars," said M&M's Senior Vice-President, Marketing (Auto Division), Vivek Nayar.

Mahindra Bolero was first launched in the year 2000 and since then the model has evolved rapidly over the years. Although it still carries the tough and rugged core DNA of Mahindra models, nevertheless, it has incorporated host of features including refurbished design and styling cues. In 2008, Mahindra also changed the technology to make Bolero even more powerful with the launch of Bolero VLX model powered by CRDi engine. Now the Indian customers also have a choice of Bolero SLX variant that feature micro-hybrid technology that makes the model most fuel efficient by reducing wastage.
