Mahindra Bolero Other Details

Mahindra Bolero has 10 versions available in India from which 10 are diesel cars. Mahindra Bolero comes in 4 colours, namely, Diamond White, Java Brown, Rocky Beige, Silver.

Mahindra & Mahindra, the home-grown auto giant, launched the facelifted Bolero in 2012 with vital exterior and interior updates and mechanical modification. The Bolero is one of the top-selling Mahindra cars in India, since its launch.

The Tata Sumo Gold is the closest rival of the Mahindra Bolero. Both the vehicles, built for the rough Indian terrain, aren’t good at handling. But, with stiffer suspension, the Bolero is slightly better and less prone to body roll. Both the vehicles look outdated with old chassis and styling elements. Mahindra’s SUV is a clear winner with affordable price and low running cost.

The 2523 cc Diesel - powered variant delivers a fuel economy of 14 kmpl in city and 16 kmpl on highways.

Interior design is neat and simple, but has started showing its age now. However, it gets wooden finish around the AC vents and console and three-spoke steering with silver accents. Plastic quality is improved. It offers ample legroom and headroom for tall passengers. Just like other Mahindra car models, the SUV has plenty of features to offer such as multi information digital display, internally adjustable mirrors, an audio system with MP3/ CD support, AC unit with four AC vents etc.

The updated model looks more rugged, sportier and outgoing than the old one. At the front, it gets a new honeycomb shaped mesh and grille, re-designed bumper with integrated fog lamps and new large headlamps. No update has been made to its side profile. The rear end, too, looks identical to the old model, except for the new rear wiper and tail lamps.

Mahindra Bolero has the 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with common rail diesel injection and a 5-speed manual transmission. The Bolero SLX and DI model comes with the four-wheel drive option. The engine generates 63bhp of power 180Nm of torque. Mahindra also offers a slightly more powerful and efficient mHawk 1.5-litre three cylinder D70 version of the engine that develops 70bhp of power and 195Nm of torque with the SLE, the SLX and the ZLX trims with the Power+ badge.
