It must be noted that Skoda has already launched the next generation Octavia model in most of the European markets and the car would now be available in India from 3rd October. Reportedly, the upcoming car of Skoda would be equipped with high end functionalities and advanced security features besides giving away a high fuel efficiency as touted by the company. Skoda Octavia carries a powerful engine, which is combined with sporty looks and sharper styling. It is derived from the Modular Transversal Toolkit platform that is developed by Skoda's parent company Volkswagen. Under this platform the cars are designed in such a way so as to achieve better fuel efficiency without compromising on the low emission levels.

The company had earlier revealed the advanced functionalities present in Octavia will include six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, electronically adjustable seats, sunroof and projector headlamps with automatic beam leveller. The flagship model of Skoda will be available in three different engine options namely 1.4-litre, 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre. The car will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. In case of the petrol variants, it will be equipped by a powerful 1.8-litre TSI turbo motor while the diesel one will be equipped with a TDI turbo diesel motor. Besides these, the company will be introducing a 1.4-litre lower-spec variant that will be targeted at the fuel economy oriented buyers.

As far as trim levels are concerned, the car will offered in three options named as Active, Elegance and Ambition. Octavia would be available in either six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission system that would be offered in both petrol and diesel engines. Also, it is likely that the vRS version of third generation Octavia will make inroads in the Indian auto market once the standard Octavia makes its debut.

As far as the ex-showroom price of Octavia is concerned, Skoda might be offering the low-spec 1.4-litre engine at Rs. 14 lakh while for the top-spec variant, it will further go up to Rs. 19 lakh. As per Industry experts, the launch of Skoda Octavia will make things tougher for its competitors in the executive sedan segment, as the previous version of the car had enjoyed a huge success in the country.
