      KTM Duke 390 launches 'Midnight Black' colour in India

      KTM Duke 390 created a stir at the recent EICMA show held in Milan. Visitors to the event were awestruck with the 'Midnight Black' color variant of Duke 390. In India, the bike retailed in combined shades of white-orange, and now with the Midnight Black shade, KTM sales are definitely expected to take a rise. The orange Tellis frame definitely compliments the black shade.

      The KTM Duke 390 is powered by a 375 cc engine that generates power of about 44 PS with 35 Nm of torque. The four stroke engine is mated to six-speed gearbox. Smart rider position, powerful engine and mere curb weight of 154 kilos, gives you a rocket start from standstill. The bike features ABS technology, thereby allowing you to be in full control while riding at high speeds on a known or unknown road stretches. As per sources, the bike-maker has started taking orders for the new variant, but it is anticipated that deliveries may begin from February.

      Amit Nandi, vice president Probiking, said, “Packing in 44PS of power and 35Nm of torque and weighing only 154 Kg (kerb weight), the 390 Duke has truly been India’s first mid-size sports bike. With the introduction of the new black color KTM fans will have the option of choosing a color that expresses them best. The new 'Midnight Black' shaded KTM Duke 390 is expected to be priced around 1.86 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). The bike also boasts of fully electronic ignition system with a digital ignition timing adjustment function. Based on reports, the bike clocks a 100 km/hr in nearly 5.5 seconds and is capable of attaining unbelievable speed of 168 km/hr.

      KTM Duke 200 also faired well in the Indian market. Infact, the bike seemed to have affected Bajaj's own Pulsar 200 line, even though both the bikes were offered in different price segments. Indian bike-maker Bajaj stated that they have managed to achieve 95% localization, but some of the crucial parts are yet not available in the country and are being imported. It is also worth noting that Bajaj's Pune manufacturing facility has also been exporting these bikes to cater to the European market as well.
