KTM that acquired the Swedish two-wheeler maker ‘Husqvarna’ in January 2013, had showcased its two scrambler concept motorcycles - Vitpilen and Svartpilen - at 2014 EICMA. One of the two scramblers production-version has recently been spied testing in Spain.

Seen here’s an image of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 that will share platform and various components with the KTM Duke 390. It will feature orange wheels, headlamp, suspension system and minimal bodywork on tailpiece, similar to the prototype. Though, the final version of the bike might get a circular headlamp and a new fuel tank. Built on KTM’s trellis frame, the Vitpilen will get WR suspension system (inverted front telescopic fork and adjustable rear monoshock) and Bybre braking system.

The bike will ride on KTM-sourced Metzeler tyres. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 is expected to be powered with a 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will deliver an estimated power of 44bhp and 35Nm of torque. This powertrain will be mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The production of the Husqvarna Vitpilen will take place at Baja’s Chakan plant in Pune. Presently, this plant produces KTM’s small displacement capacity motorcycles ranging from 125cc to 390cc. The Husqvarna Vitpilen is expected to launch sometime in 2016.

Along with the Husqvarna Vitpilen and Svartpilen, KTM is also planning to roll out a couple of new compact sports bikes in the Indian market.
