News has been doing rounds since quite sometime now that BMW has been planning to launch a plug-in hybrid X3 trim sometime soon. The vehicle reportedly in the test phase has been codenamed G01. The vehicle would receive a 2.0 Liter four-cylinder engine along with a small electric motor that shall be mated to eight-speed automatic transmission.
Collaboratively, the vehicle shall be capable of generating an impressive 328 Hp of power and is capable of covering about 30 Miles with just the electric motor. In order to gain the desired efficiency results, the vehicle's chassis has been built on aluminum, with a combination of high-strength steel and carbon fiber structure.
