Kia has taken the wraps off its Niro EV and, in the process, has debuted multiple new technologies which we will see across its model range in the coming years. The Niro EV is the first in a line of 16 new vehicles scheduled to be launched by 2025 that will either be hybrid, fuel cell cars or full electric vehicles.

This Niro EV is powered by a 64kWh battery and 150kWh electric motor that can give it a range of 383km which is 100 units more than what its sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq, offers. In terms of looks, it is the standard Niro, but with an interactive LED display on the face to give out signals especially to pedestrians who may happen to come in the way of the car. The wheels are covered in aerodynamic spats while the tail lamps are full LED units.

The cabin too looks like standard Kia fare but with the sort of minimalism that one would expect with such a concept car. One of the new technologies that has debuted in the cabin is a noise cancelling system that lets different sounds play in the back and front of the car allowing for independent sound choices.

The production model, which will be launched in the second half of this year, will reach the stage of level 4 autonomous driving by 2021 and by that time, may even have a higher range.
