Kawasaki, the renowned two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced that it will bring the Z250 bike in Japan with ABS and a slipper clutch as a standard, right from the beginning of the New Year. The Z250 is a naked quarter-litre variant and is a popular supersports version of the Ninja 300. Its styling has been influenced by the larger Z machines from the line-up of Kawasaki Z800 and Z1000.

Mechanistically, the model is identical to the Ninja 300 and has tough tubular steel framework. It runs on a 249 cc mill, which is parallel-twinned and is a downsized model of the 300 cc unit. It is capable of generating 31.5 bhp power and a torque of 21 Nm. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the bike is made for unleashing power on the roads.

The model was launched earlier this year along with ER-6n, which is a middleweight naked motorcycle. However, the model does not come with ABS or slipper clutch. The Z250 has been given a steep price tag despite a high price tag of 2.99 lakhs INR. This has made the bike only 60000 INR cheaper than the fully faired sibling. It is not yet known that whether the new bike will be imported in the country, in that case, the price of the bike will narrow down further.
