      Jaguar XE high end variants to borrow V6 engine from F-Type

      Entry level luxury sedan segment will soon have a new entrant, British car maker; Jaguar is preparing to bring forth its new affordable sedan, XE. The vehicle is expected to be launched in India by 2015. Jaguar’s Indian and international websites carry information on the upcoming vehicle. XE will be built on the all new aluminium platform dubbed iQ.

      A new set of engines will be housed inside the vehicle, these engines will be developed at Wolverhampton, U.K. The engine is question belongs to Ingenium family of motors, XE’s low end variants will be equipped with four cylinder petrol and diesel engines emitting 100g of CO2 per km. On the other hand the performance oriented variants will be bestowed with 3.0 litre supercharged V6 engine powering F-Type. The mighty engine offers varied power output of 340 PS and 380 PS.

      The performance oriented trims of XE will gun straight against BMW’s M3, which is powered by a robust engine engendering 430 Hp. Therefore, Jaguar may also modify 3.0 litre motor to deliver enhanced power output. Speculations suggest that V6 engine powering XE will proffer a top speed of 300 kmph. Being an entry level sedan, the vehicle is expected to carry a competitive price tag. In the entry level luxury sedan segment, XE will rival with BMW 3 Series.
