Hyundai Xcent made its forte in the Indian sedan segment earlier this year, and since then there has been no looking back for the brand in India. Hyundai Xcent a sub-4 meter sedan is stated to be based on the popular Grand i10 hatchback platform. In Mexican markets, the vehicle is known as Grand i10 sedan. The top end GLS trim retails at 168,900 MXN, whereas the GL MID is offered at 1,54,900 MXN and the base trim i.e GL is offered at 134,900 MXN Pesos.
In the international market the Grand i10 sedan is offered in a petrol trim that is powered by 1.25 litre Kappa engine that delivers a decent 88 hp of max power at 6,000 rpm and 120.6 Nm of torque output at about 4,000 rpm. The sedan has been offered in three trim levels namely – GL, GLS, and GL MID. The sedan meant for south American market shall be manufactured at Hyundai's Chennai facility.
For now Hyundai Grand i10 sedan shall be sold in Mexican market with a five speed manual transmission, whereas the four-speed automatic transmission that is serving the Indian market shall be made available for Mexico at a later date. Speaking on features aspect, the top end trim gets electric mirrors, power windows, dual front airbags, ABS, audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, alloy wheels, body colored ORVMs and door handles, and steering wheel is adjustable and has smart multi-functionality.
