      India-bound new Ford Endeavour unveiled at 2015 MIAS

      Ford has displayed the new-generation Endeavour SUV at the 2015 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Also known as the Ford Everest in some markets, the SUV will go on sale in the Philippines market on May 7, 2015. Since Ford India, too, has imported the new Endeavour from Thailand, and has started testing the vehicle here, expect this to be launched by the end of this year.

      The new Endeavour was introduced at the Bangkok International Motor Show last month. The new model is available in three engine options - one petrol and two diesel engines. While the petrol engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol, and the oil burners are - 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCi diesel and 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCi.

      New Ford Endeavour

      The SUV comes equipped with Terrain Management System with a new 4WD system and an Active Transfer Case. The India-spec model will be made available in diesel version only. Dimensionally, the SUV measures 4882mm in length, 1862mm in width and 1836mm in height, and has a large wheelbase of 2850mm. This SUV weighs 2375kg, and comes with a large 225mm of ground clearance which is more than sufficient to tackle rough road conditions. Along with large ground clearance, the vehicle will offer 800mm of water wading capacity.

      Other than the Endevour, Ford will also launch the new-generation Figo and the Aspire compact sedan in the Indian market this year.
