The Grand i10, one of the best-selling product for Hyundai in India is set to get a new 1.2-litre diesel engine. Currently, the vehicle comes with a 1.1-litre diesel engine and with plans to launch a facelift model in the coming months, it is then when the new diesel engine might also be introduced. Import records for 2016 also reveal that Hyundai imported a single unit of Grand i10 in India which is powered by a larger 1.2-litre engine for homologation purpose.

The petrol version of the Grand i10 facelift will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre unit that generates 81bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. However, the new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine will offer slightly better power output figures and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The hike in power output will also mean that the new model will further help it compete strongly against the Maruti Swift diesel variant.

The new Grand i10 will get fresh set of cosmetic upgrades in form of revised headlamps, new bumper and a new grille. As for interior, the new model will get revised upholstery and a new integrated touchscreen infotainment system which may be limited to top spec variant. The vehicle will also get driver airbag as standard across all variants. As for pricing, the new model is expected to be priced around the existing range.
