Hyundai India is readying a series of new cars to enter into the growing segments of the country. The company will launch Elite i20 based crossover and ix25 compact SUV in the country this year. Adding to it, the South Korean automaker will launch the Verna facelift in India in February, 2015. Interestingly, Hyundai is also working on its first multi-purpose vehicle which is likely to be launched in 2016.

It is expected that the compact MPV will share its styling cues with the Hexa Space concept, which was showcased at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. The upcoming compact MPV will be a seven-seater car and will rival against the likes of Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga and Renault Lodgy. The Hexa Space concept was equipped with eight captain seats set, indicating that the production spec model could be offered in both seven-and eight seat configurations.

The South Korean automaker is also working on the next-generation Verna sedan. The early prototype of the sedan has already been spotted in Korea. It will get new features and more matured styling. If reports are to be believed, the company will incorporate the new 7-speed dual clutch transmission (shown at the 2014 Paris Motor Show) in the sedan. This gearbox is already available with the 2015 Accent sedan in the Korean market.
