At the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, Chevrolet India has showcased the Camaro ZL1. It was speculated that the car will not make its way to the Indian market, but the company has recently imported the Camero SS to India for research & development purpose. The company has also imported the Spin MPV from Indonesia for the same purpose.
The imported model, the Camaro, was the left hand drive model, as it is not available in right hand drive version. The American maker, Ford is also planning to launch the iconic Mustang in the country; however, the exact launch date of the car is yet to be announced.
The Chevrolet Camaro SS is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 426bhp and a peak torque of 567Nm. This engine is clubbed to a six-speed manual gearbox to drive power to wheels of the car.
Chevrolet India is yet to announce the exact launch of the Camaro in the Indian car market as the vehicle has just arrived for R&D purpose only. Even if the company finds it a feasible product, it will, still, take 2-3 years for GM to launch it here.
