Hyundai India achieves landmark of selling five lakh cars in 2016

Hyundai has surpassed their targeted half-million sales milestone in India this calender year. The company sold 5,00,537 cars in the domestic market in 2016.

The carmaker had sold 4,76,001 units in 2015, thus showing a year-on-year growth of 5.2 per cent. Even in terms of overall sales, there is a growth of 2.9 per cent as 6,62,054 units were sold in 2016 as against 6,43,269 cars in 2015.

YK Koo, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India said, “2016 has been an Year of Excellence for Hyundai in India achieving various milestones - Celebrating 20 years in India, the roll out of seven Millionth car in November’16, crossing the five lakh domestic sales in CY2016 and the fastest 50,000 unit sales in the month of October. The automaker's focus on the domestic market has paid off with this sales success. They are continuously improving the price value equation by refreshing their existing models, while also adding new models to their line-up. This is backed up by enhancing the product quality and customer satisfaction, and also regularly investing in the sales and service network in Tier II and III cities in our country.
