      Hyundai hikes prices of cars by up to Rs. 25,000

      Hyundai India has announced that it will raise the prices of its cars from January 2015. In a statement, the country’s second largest carmaker said that the increase in the prices of its entire range due to higher input costs and high cost of import duties due to higher rupee depreciation.

      Hyundai will increase the prices of its cars in the range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 25,000. Hyundai India currently sells ten cars in the country including- Eon, i10, Grand i10, Elite i20, Santro, Xcent compact sedan, Verna, Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe SUV. Before increasing prices of its cars, the company is offering heavy discounts on their products for December month. So if you are making up your mind to buy a new Hyundai car, we'll suggest you to buy one in December at discounted prices and with additional benefits.

      Commenting on the price hike, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing said, "In these adverse market conditions, the price increase is necessitated on account of increase in input costs, high cost of imports due to higher rupee depreciation and high cost of sales. We have been absorbing most of the costs but are now constrained to consider price increase across all models in the range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 25,000 which will be effective from Jan 2015." For those who want to save this additional cost, you may book your favorite trim this year itself.
