Reportedly, the Elantra sedan proved its popularity with the achievement of 10 Million sales mark in the global market. The Elantra sedan from Hyundai made it debut way back in 1990's and since then, there has been no looking back for this stylish sedan from Hyundai's production line.
It is also worth noting that, Hyundai Elantra is Hyundai's first model ever to achieve this astonishing sales numbers. Moreover, the Elantra's 10 Million sales feat brings it among the 10 cars who have managed to achieve these numbers in the history of automobiles. Speaking more on the achievement, Tak Uk Im, CEO, Hyundai Motor, said, "Reaching this historic mark is a testament to Elantra's staying power and the global appeal of a vehicle that delivers attractive design, functionality and class-leading performance. As a company it also shows our ability to quickly adapt to changing consumer preferences and continue to push the compact car segment with features once reserved for luxury vehicles."
The Hyundai Elantra ranks at the highest level in its segment and this fact has been validated in studies conducted by J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Initial Quality StudySM (IQS). In the international market, back in 2012, the Elantra had received awards like Autobest in Europe and was also named as national Car of the year in South Africa and Canada. The Elantra has also been awarded with North American Car of the Year award. Breaking down the numbers in stats, Hyundai said that going by numbers, Hyundai has managed to sell about 4,20,000 car units every year which brings to an impressive 1,100 cars being sold everyday across the global markets.
