Japanese carmaker Honda has been a strong player in the Indian automotive industry. The Brio hatchback has been a hot-seller in the Indian hatchback segment. The current generation of Brio is powered by 1.2 Liter petrol engine that delivers a power output of about 88 PS with 110 Nm of torque. News has been doing rounds that Honda has been working on a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that has also been catering to the City Sedan. It is also likely that the hatchback may be powered by 1.6 Liter i-DTEC engine that caters to Eropean version of Honda cars.

In terms of power output the upcoming diesel engine from Honda shall be capable of generating power output figures between 70 to 75 PS of power with about 150 to 160 Nm of torque. The interiors are expected to be fairly the same as the current generation and shall retain the upmarket feel with minor tweaks. More technical details on the anticipated diesel trim of Honda Brio is unknown for now and shall be better known post an official announcement made by the company in this regard.
