      Honda Motors plans aggressive expansion in smaller cities of India

      Honda Motors & Scooters India (HMSI), one of the leading two-wheeler Manufacturers in the Indian market, is aggressively planning to expand their sales & Service network in the country. The company is restructuring their network to enhance their footprints in the smaller cities in India.

      Speaking to the reporters in Ahmedabad while speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of their first zonal office at Ahmedabad, HMSI president, Keita Muramatsu said, "India is a big country. The regions here are even bigger than countries like Indonesia. To enable our customers get a better sales and service network, we will create about 20 zonal offices below the five regional offices."

      After Ahmedabad, the company is all set to open regional offices in Bhopal and Chennai. The company currently already has 5 regional offices in the country one each in Pune, Manesar, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Lucknow.

      By the end of this fiscal, the company aims to increase the number of their sales and service network to over 2000 from the current count of 1500 dealers. Besides this, the firm is all set to start production at the upcoming Narsapur facility in Kolar district, near Bengaluru from next year.
