Honda Cars India seems aggressive with its product strategy for the Indian market. The company is planning to launch a series of new cars and facelifts of their existing cars in the country. The first product to hit Indian shores will be the new-generation Jazz hatchback, which is scheduled to go on sale in the second quarter of 2015. The maker is also planning to introduce the facelifted version of Amaze compact sedan along with the CNG version. Interestingly, Honda India is also aiming to re-launch the Civic sedan in the country.

Honda Civic sedan was discontinued last year, but the new generation model is likely to make its re-entry into the market this year. Moreover, the new Civic will be offered with the diesel fuel option. The company has already imported the car for research & development purpose. The imported model is powered by a 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine that also powers the European CR-V. This turbo diesel engine is capable of producing a top power output of 120bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm.

The previous generation Honda Civic was powered by the 1.8-litre 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine paired to either a five-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The new generation model is likely to get the same petrol engine. The oil burner is likely to be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Honda is also planning to launch the new CR-V SUV with diesel fuel option. The same 1.6-litre i-DTEC unit will power the new generation CR-V in India.
