Electric division of Hero MotoCorp christened Hero Electric has proclaimed that induction of a new high-speed electric scooter in India. The new high-speed electric scooter called ‘Photon’ was displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo held earlier this year in the month of February. In India the scooter is available for sale at Rs 54,110 (ex-showroom Delhi) in all five metro cities across the country. Company claims that the scooter was put on test marketing in various markets where it received an unprecedented response. Features that will be equipped in the new Photon include front telescopic suspensions, anti-theft alarm, float-cum-boost charger, aerodynamic style, economy and power mode.
Sources have revealed that scooter will get a high mag-flux with 46 magnetic poles that enable to deliver high efficiency and high torque. Courtesy water-proof brushless DC motor with low electro-magnetic interferences one can enjoy a noise-free ride. Besides these, the scooter will get electronic controllers with 12 mosfets, 24 MHz high-speed controller that enables immediate response to the drive-train with minimal signal losses. Hero Photon has been bestowed with a AGM VRLA battery that has been designed to combat erratic Indian environmental conditions.
The multi-stage charger with in-built memory equipped in Photon controls the charge based on the condition of the battery hence offering highest charge efficiency. Photon is available in three colour options - Vivid Burgundy, Vanilla White and Velvet Black.
