India's most affordable car Tata Nano is expected to be launched with a new unique selling preposition as a 'Smart City Car'. The news has been released yesterday by Girish Wagh, Senior vice-president, Tata Motors. Reportedly, Tata Nano has been affected by poor sales figures due its negative mindset among the buyer lot in the country.

Speaking more on the upcoming version, Girish Wagh said, “We are carrying out multiple interventions to improve the product as well as its image to ensure that the Nano lives up to its promise.” further clarifying on the incidents of Nano catching fire, he said, “Although fire incidents were either caused by foreign objects in the exhaust system or external manipulation with the car's electrical systems, over the period, we have rectified them.”

The new image of being a 'Smart City car' is expected to change the misconceptions. On numerous occasions it has been seen that interested buyers have backed out post bookings owing to negative feedbacks from their peers. The recently launched Nano Twist is stated to be clear of major technical flaws and loaded with the latest of improved technology. Moreover, the upcoming 2015 variant is also likely to be developed to such an extent that it can be exported to international markets as well.
